Founded in 1953 by Zweitse Landsheer and led since 2009 by his daughter Charlotte (Lotte) Landsheer, Cor Unum is a renowned ceramic atelier in ’s-Hertogenbosch that collaborates with leading national and international designers, architects, and artists.
One of the most inspiring aspects of my time at Cor Unum was seeing how Lotte Landsheer has embraced the responsibility of continuing her father’s legacy while remaining true to the values that make the studio so distinctive. What sets Cor Unum apart is not only its dedication to design and craftsmanship, but also its deep-rooted sense of social responsibility and its commitment to passing on ceramic knowledge through collaboration and community.
Working closely with Lotte and Cor Unum’s inclusive team, which includes professionals, students, volunteers, designers, and individuals with diverse backgrounds, inspired me to reflect more deeply on my own family legacy and how to carry it forward with intention.
During a three-month full-time internship (2013) at Cor Unum, I supported the organization of events celebrating the studio’s 60th anniversary. As project coordinator for the anniversary year, I contributed to the planning and execution of several key initiatives, including:
– Cor Unum Mobile Gallery
– Dutch Design Week, Eindhoven
– Vuur & Vlam exhibition at the Stedelijk Museum ’s-Hertogenbosch
– Processors education program at the Stedelijk Museum ’s-Hertogenbosch
